You can move the toolbar to a more convenient location by clicking
and dragging on the toolbars mouse graphic. The cursor will change
to a drag cursor when you are in the right place.
To start editing simply click the 'Start' icon (1st button)
on the toolbar. This will highlight all the SmartContent areas on
the page with a red dotted outline. To turn off editing just click
the same button again.
With editing 'On' simply click in each area and make any text
changes you wish. When finished, use the 'Save' icon
(3rd button) to make your changes live. This function
is disabled for the demonstration system. Use your
browsers refresh button to reload the page if you want to
start again.
By switching in and out of the editing mode you can preview the
exact effect your changes are having on the page before finally
saving them. The toolbar has a help file which is accessed by
clicking the right hand 'Help' icon. This lists the keyboard
shortcut keys you can use within the SmartContent areas.
You can do more advanced editing by using the pop-up editor, make sure
you have clicked in a red outlined area and then click the 'Editor'
icon (2nd button). This loads a new window with the selected content
plus a familiar editing toolbar. Use the 'help' icon in the editor
window to review the facilities available.
The image dialog box in the editor allows you to select images
from a Gallery, you can also upload images from your hard disk to be
stored in the Gallery for use in your SmartContent areas. Within
the editor it is also possible to
view the underlying code, if you are familiar with HTML this gives
you even more power to control the content on your page.
All changes you make in the pop-up editor are also immediately reflected in the
main window. When you are finished you simply click the 'Close Editor'
button. Switching the in-page editor off will then let you see the effect
of your changes.
